I love making miniature polymer clay bowls and it seems I have tons of ideas and techniques I want to try.  Unfortunately, before I get to them I end up seeing another cane I want to use and I’m off again!

I’ve never taken the time to make a tutorial on how I make them but my process  was full of trial and error. When Carol Simmons finished making 26 tiny bowls using a lightbulb for a challenge, she was kind enough to post a tutorial on the process she uses.

Although the process she uses in not exactly the same as mine, it should get you started on ways to make your own mini bowls. Maybe one day I will get around to photoing my process using laminated sheets.

Here is a sampling of the bowls that Carol made for her challenge, aren’t they gorgeous!

And as always you can find polymer clay tools and supplies or follow my blog at Linda’s Art Spot.

Yes, that’s right!  You can get beautiful effects and brilliant color with Marabu Alcohol Ink and adhesive tape.  Easy peasy!  We found a quick and simple blog post explaining this technique.  This can be done on different surfaces including clay.  That clay then could be made into jewelry, home decor and more!

Linda’s Art Spot carries a large variety of Marabu Alcohol Ink colors to get you started.   We also carry the rainbow color additive which gives any color a mesmerizing shimmer effect as well as the extender which increases the inks’ open time, lightens and lifts colors, and increases transparency.  Now all you need is some tape!
