Sandy Camp is a yearly retreat that is hosted by the San Diego Polymer Clay guild each year. This year we’re in for some big treats. It the past claying took place in a tent and was wonderful but often hot or cold. Not this year we have a claying room Yea!
Our wonderful committee has also chosen a new how for us.Check it out our new location Crown Plaza San Diego.

So Save the dates and plan to come to San Diego for Sandy Camp! Everyone is invited!
It’s like a tropical playground. Bring the family, Mission Valley is central to the zoo, the beaches and the hotel is right on the San Diego River for birdwatchers.
Alice Stroppel is teaching our Master Class (detail to be announced) and there will be tons of other scheduled demos! Stay tuned for more information! Did I mention the sushi bar in the lobby? The free shuttles to Old Town and shopping centers? 10 minutes from the airport?
So keep an eye open or contact the guild for more information and registration.

I just had to share this art you looking for a fun new polymer clay class for intermediate to advanced polymer clayers.
Check out this class at The Spirited Bead & Klews’ Gallery Tehachapi, CA
A workshop with Jana Roberts Benzon
Registration opens March 15th and space is limited so be sure to call the number below to register.
What a mind-blowing, ‘the possibilities are endless’, technique this is! Join me for two days as we explore the ways the Encrusted technique can be simple and “clean lined”, or rich and luscious, encrusted with gems and full of interesting and mysterious nooks and crannies. The technique is so much fun to play with – it works both the right (creative, free flowing, organic) and left (systematic, geometric) sides of the brain, leaving you with a very rich finished piece of work!
You will learn to create a pendant, brooch or bracelet in class (chances are you’ll have time to finish your bracelet in the workshop, but if not, you’ll definitely receive all the instruction so you can do so on your own at home).
This workshop is for intermediate to advanced polymer-ists….if you have a basic working knowledge of clay, you can do this! So, please join me, as we explore another way out of the box technique and once again, experience those lovely ‘ah ha’ moments…
